What is padel?

Padel is a high-energy racquet sport played in doubles within glass-walled courts. Easy to learn like pickleball, strategic like squash, and dynamic like tennis, it's addictive from day one.

Invented in Mexico in the 1960s, padel exploded across Spain and Argentina before conquering Europe and Latin America. Decades later, it stands as one of the most addictive racquet sports.

What makes padel special? It welcomes everyone. Beginners pick up the basics in minutes, yet the strategic complexity challenges elite athletes for years. It's a sport where everyone belongs, regardless of age or ability.

Glass walls define padel. Standing 10 feet high, around 33 by 66 feet, and half an inch thick, they revolutionise gameplay. Every rally becomes a strategic war of angles, positioning, and precision.

Balls resemble tennis balls but with lower pressure for controlled bounce. From beginners to competitors, North Padel Club provides the facilities, coaching, and community you need to excel.

Scoring

  • Like tennis, points go 15, 30, 40, game. Best of three sets to six games each, with a two-game margin.

During play

  • The ball must bounce once before contacting any wall surface.
  • You can play returns off glass walls, but never off the fence.
  • If the ball strikes the fence mid-rally, play continues normally.

Winning points

Frequently asked questions

We’re here to help you

Hit the ball over the net using the walls so it bounces twice on the opponent's side.

The walls are in play! You can hit the ball off the glass or mesh walls after it bounces on the ground, just like in squash.

You must serve underhand, diagonally, and the ball must bounce in the service box.
